Pebeo Marbling Ink 45ml

Marbling is a method of decorating paper or fabric through the manipulation of floating colours. Colour is applies to the surface of a thickened liquid and fashioned into artistic patterns. Paper or fabric is then briefly laid down upon the surface to print. The paint adheres upon contact and the design is transferred.

Pebeo marbling consists of 9 colours and 1 thickening powder to carry out the art of marbling easily on fabric, paper and any other light  base. The technique  marbling used with Pebeo colours is a simplified and modernised bath technique.

sprinkle 2 heaped tablespoons of thickener into one litre of cold water. Mix vigorously with a beater and then allow to stand for at least 2 hours. Next, spread a layer of gel, 1 to 2cm thick into a flat tray or a container larger than the object tp be painted.

using a dropper, carefully place the selected marbling colours on the surface of the bath. Let the drops spread for a few seconds before working them with a wooden stick, to get various patterns and marblings. when the marbling is complete, gently place the side of the fabric or the paper to be painted, on the surface of the coloured bath. Leave it lying for 10 to 15 seconds before pulling it out. Quickly rinse it under running water to remove the excess of gel. Put the painted base on a flat surface and allow to dry before fixing by ironing if necessary.
